Carni Pugliesi, the Apulian beef supply chain

The Apulian beef supply chain ‘Carni Pugliesi’ was created in 2013 with the aim of producing excellent quality meat, following a rigorous process that starts with genetically selected livestock and ends with distribution to selected, controlled retailers. Thanks to a production system based upon the concept of local sourcing, we ensure that the animal feed used comes exclusively from areas surrounding Puglia, thereby supporting local economies and reducing the environmental impact of transport.

Animal welfare and nutrition

Our cattle are fed a carefully balanced diet to ensure healthy, natural growth, using top-quality plant-based ingredients. Feed production is carried out under our direct supervision in our own feed mill, allowing us to constantly monitor quality. Food safety is a responsibility we take very seriously. Every day, we are committed to ensuring animal welfare through significant investments in the creation of state-of-the-art barns where cattle can live stress-free in optimal conditions. Animal welfare is essential not only for their health but also for obtaining superior quality meat.

Genetics and sustainability

We believe that sustainability and respect for natural resources are crucial in livestock farming. For this reason, we have decided to invest in a 200 kWe biogas plant, capable of producing electricity and hot water, thus helping to reduce our environmental impact and optimise the use of resources. As far as breeding is concerned, we promote the Italian origin of our animals, which come from Apulia and other regions such as Sardinia, Basilicata, Calabria, Sicily and Abruzzo. This allows us to produce meat that is ‘born, reared and slaughtered in Italy’, which is a value that sets us apart and represents an important commitment to the traceability and quality of our product.

Certifications and Quality

We adhere to the labelling regulations approved by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, which guarantees the traceability of the entire beef supply chain, from the farm to the dinner table. This commitment allows us to enhance every stage of the supply chain and provide consumers with a safe, transparent and high-quality product.
